Our accommodation was arranged at Assam state Handloom Corporation Guest House.
We scheduled our first day to visit Kamakya temple. Its one of the very popular temples in India and amba-buchi mela held in June every year attracts huge amount of pilgrims. We reached the temple at around 7.30 am in the morning and stood in que to get darshan. The waiting continued till 3.15 pm in the afternoon, meanwhile many students were badly hungry as the belief to have darshan of the Goddess with empty stomach fulfills your wishes.
The rush was such that we could not even go out of the que to even piss. People standing behind were very rude at some of our girl students who wen outside for getting some water and refreshments. Every temples in India, devotees forget all pains of standing long time to have a glimpse of the Goddess and get blessings. It happened with us too.
After Darshan, we had a quick lunch and proceeded to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. The winding hilly roads troubled some students with motion sickness. The journey took 4 hours as the condition of some of the students went bad due to continuous vomitting.
