Our trip to Lake Stressa
Wojciech Lesniewski (Poland) hired a car from the airport to Armeno
and he kept it with him till the course completed. When the classes ended on 31
August he informed us that he is going to a nearby lake the car is have space
for 4 persons. Shree, Zeya, Pushpita joined Wojciech to Lake Stressa. He adjusted the GPS and we
started at around 6 pm. The drive to Lake Stressa gave us a real panorama of
the Europe. There were very less number of traffic in the road. Completely
green all around. Small hills and valleys. Beautiful farm houses appears at
some distance with tile roofs. Complete silence everywhere.
The car (Ford-compact) with a 1600 cc engine, which is not available
in India right now. We could get the driving skill of Wojciech as he smoothly
passaged the curves and turns at a speed of around 70 km/h, which I would have
driven at a speed of 40 km/h.
Some beautiful town appeared ahead. There are clearly marked space
for car parking. Cameras are kept by police to track the over speeding vehicles
and law breakers. I wondered that who is going to break rules as every cars
passed nearby were very expensive ones. Some vehicles were carrying the canoes
on the top of the cars.

Pushpita and Ziya felt some uneasiness due to motion sickness. Once Pushpita
shown the signs of throwing up, I changed my seat to rear seat as. Wojciech also reduced the speed so the co pax won’t
have much difficulty. Almost 5 km before lake stress, we stopped for getting
some fresh air and all of us moved out. What a wonderful view…! The lake and
nearby buildings. Wojciech told me that the summer vacation is going on in
Europe and there were tourists from different places visiting. After some photo
ops, we moved to the lake front. It was further down side of the hill and the
bends of the roads appeared like unending. But we could read the board Lake
Stressa in a hanging poster just ahead.

The car parked in the parking slot we moved out. Our selfie girl,
the youngest in the group (Pushpita, Indonesia) ran to the lake side. The water
was crystal blue. We could find tourists moving along the lake side. All were
fully involved and enjoying their activities. The evening breeze, the fast
moving ships, the slow tides, tranquillity and silence everywhere. One can hear
the call of their minds here. Sitting in the lap of this beautiful hill slope,
where the lake tells you the stories of her romance with the visitors, the
trees around you shower with flowers as the blessing of the nature, one forgets
the real world and enter in the magical beauty of the Lake Stressa. Our waving hands said bye to the lake and we moved back to Armeno as our dinner would be ready by 8. We reached safely around 7.40 in the hotel while just remembering the beautiful experience of the outdoor trip
