the unforgettables......

The train reached Madgon at 6 am, right time. Went outside to locate the bus. Mr. James was the local travel agent in Goa. There were two mini bus waiting for us outside. When we board the bus, Tikdam came to me that we have to move in to another bus. Peter was the third person who came to pick us, but this was a quite surprise for me as the entire dealings were with Mr. James. Peter demanded compensation of R. 2000 for the mistake committed by Tikam, and asked for immediate payment. The situation seems to be irritating, but as there was no other option, and the mistake is committed by ourselves, I agreed to pay him the transfer charge in the evening at youth hostel. With a disturbed beginning at the early morning, we have reached the youth hostel at Mapusa.
After breakfast that day was scheduled for the beach tour. Starting with Dolphin ride and moving to Baga, Anjuna, and ending at Calangute for water-sports. The water sports was really an exciting one as there was lot of adventures in it. Poor fellow Rohit returned to the shore, terrified of seeing the waves in sea. For the entire 2 hours I was sitting in the shore by taking care of bags, cameras, chappals, and what else, even dresses left by students. People who were moving around me thought I started cloak room in the sea shore too.
Watersports was really a good deal that all students went for a very low rate of Rs 250 and the same we did last year at a cost of Rs 500 per person at Colva Beach. The day ended with fun and joy and every one was tired once they were back to the hotel. After reaching hostel, the appearance of some guys, like Veeru, Tarun, Harish etc. Appeared like that they have got a taste of Feny, the local drink. As they were keeping completely silent and moved away from me whenever I spotted them.
The last day. Day for old Goa sightseeing. Churches, Mangeshkar temple, Science cente and the boat cruise in River Mandovi. The day was bit boring but the boat cruise again pushed the nerves of each student with lot of energy. The small deck was filled with our students once the announcement was made that the session was for the bachelors. Rohit, Sumit, Satya, Kamlesh, Veeru, Mukesh, Arun, Karuna, all were in the race to hold the first raw and dance with ‘munni badnam huyi.... to yamla pagla deevana etc. A review of the tour was held at the youth hostel in the night. Asked the feedback of every one and a mixed response came from the group. The unforgettable thing in their tour was they could not see the Vivekanda Rock as we reached their late. Rest all were fine...
The last day to move back to catch our train to Varanasi. But the bus driver was kind enough to show us Colva beach and the aquarium enroute to Madgaon. Return to Varanasi after a gap of 13 days long tour.
The success of the trip was really the discipline of my students. All of them were really aware of what to do, and how to move ahead. The girls deserve appreciation, as they were bothered about the fact that there is no lady teacher in the trip, and obedient throughout the trip. Though there were light clashes among themselves. I found all of them were really understanding each others, helpful and ready for their career life. Few names are repeat im mind are ....
