tough time ever had in life ..

In the morning Amit told that he is having some problems with stomach and needs immediate medical attention. I advised Depak, Amit’s friend and the driver of the bus to go the hospital immediately and get the medicine. We all got ready for the friendly session with the students of Tourism in MG University. The interaction session planned at M.G. University was really an eye opening. The Vice Chancellor of the university addressed the joint session for an hour. Faculty member from Tailors University, Kuala Lumpur and students of MG University. Another coincidence was Mr. Tony, the key speaker for the day was my close friend and class mate for 5 years of my higher education whom I was meeting after a gap of almost 8 years. The tea session went further, by taking down the emails and notes of the students. By the time Amit came back to our place, after taking medicine from Carithas Hospital.

Moved to Kumarakom, where we had to catch a boat to Allappuzha. Every one was really excited to see the backwater stretch, as the houseboats, which they have only seen in websites and pictures came in to the real face.

The boatride was another interesting experience for me, as the food was the main concern of the students. Some students thought that chicken Biryani, which we have brought is not Chicken, perhaps beef or duck. 2-3 students even hesitate to take it seriously and they didn’t even bother to taste it. Sad face of perception. Once the scenic view changed our attention to the beauty of the place, soon Rose and Jack came in to the reality. Visualisation of the love which many found in movie songs rehearsed it infront.

Finished our trip at around 4.30 and now we need to reach Trivandrum. Amit’s pain doesn’t seen any change, and my worries started going up. Once all were ready, the bus soon directed towards Trivandrum. Enroute another interesting thing happened. A two wheeler over took the bus, started making foul play (a black pulser, with). The pillion rider started abusing the bus driver and soon the he changed his posture like threatening the driver that he would be cut in to pieces. The bus driver sought help from a police jeep which was patrolling in highway. After hearing the complaint the police inspector passed the message through the vireless and told that they will be traced in another half an hour. The police jeep escorted us about two kilometers. After seeing all these incidents, students and me, were completely nervous, but once we have reached Trivandrum, everything seems to be normal. Our accommodation was arranged at Mar Ivanios College, but the premises show that it is a hostel kind of location. The night hours again slipped in to deep sleep.
The next day looked bit dull, but after hearing the news from Deepak that Amits’s condition became worse than the previous day. He was having severe weakness, and stomach upset continued for another couple of hours. Last minute, we came to conclusion that we should sent him back by the first available flight.

After a brisk discussion with the student representatives, we decided to sent back Amit and Deepak by King Fisher which leaves TVM at 1 pm. We left them in the airport after getting the confirmed tickets and proceeded to Kanyakumari. The journey took more than expected time as we had to spend more time at the airport are. As every one was travelling without taking proper breakfast we moved in search of a hotel for food. As some of the students were pure vegetarians, finding a pure veg. Hotel was really a tough task. Along with the grieved party i also stayed back with a cup of tea and some snacks, were rest of the students completed their meals at the hotel which they found good.

Reached Kanyakumari at around 3.45pm were in search of food at a vegetarian hotel and locating a pure north Indian hotel was really good as the real taste of roti, dal sabzi were a remote dream for many of the students. Mean time. Some f the students told that the boating to Vivekananda Rock stopped at 4 p.m., by then every one seemed to be disappointed. But the evening crowd and the setting sun made them to enjoy enough. Returned to the guest house n the evening and prepared for the last day at Trivandrum.
